Security

Major Approach is designed to minimize unnecessary data exposure while keeping pilot career and logbook information tied to authenticated user accounts.

Account access

Access to private profile and logbook-analysis information requires an authenticated account.

Data isolation

User-specific profile, flight-summary, and document records are protected with database access controls intended to limit users to their own account data.

Source logbooks

Major Approach analyzes supported logbook exports to produce derived totals and review flags. Users should retain their own original logbook records and backups.

Secrets and credentials

Sensitive server credentials are not intended to be exposed in the browser. Users should never submit passwords, API secrets, or other unnecessary credentials through profile or logbook fields.

Third-party infrastructure

Major Approach relies on third-party hosting, authentication, and database infrastructure. Security also depends on those providers and on users protecting access to their own email and account credentials.

Beta limitations

Major Approach is under active development. Security controls and architecture will continue to be reviewed and improved as the service approaches wider release.

Reporting a security issue

Suspected security issues should be reported privately through the contact information provided by Major Approach rather than disclosed publicly before they can be investigated.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users should only upload information necessary to use the service.
